Nothing I have ever studied or taught has prepared me for this phase. When a sitting U.S. president publicly threatens a civilian capital with annihilation on social media, turning genocidal language into official communication, IR’s clean theories of calibrated violence and political science’s predictive models collapse. This isn’t strategy — it’s theatre on the brink of mass death, an intent to destroy not just a state but a nation. And our theories still cling to the fiction of rational actors.

I’m so angry that the lib orgs responsible for the No Kings protests are celebrating as if a large turnout is somehow a victory when ICE continues to brutalize our communities. We are not even close to a victory. We must keep fighting and stop telling people to be peaceful.

Daily protests continue in front of the Portland ICE building in South Waterfront, including today. Last night (Sunday), Portland police reported arresting four people. It is unknown if federal officers made any arrests.

Remember the “snack van” from the 2020 riots? How it was in Portland, then driven all the way the Hell across country to Waukesha, and how it got wrecked and the guy operating it just up and bought a new one right away. Nobody ever determined just exactly what it was distributing
