A massive leadership vacuum at the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) has reportedly pushed thousands of qualified Nigerian nurses into professional stagnation, with many unable to practise or seek employment three years after graduation. The affected healthcare professionals, comprising Registered Nurses (RNs) from Schools of Nursing, Colleges of Nursing Sciences, and Universities nationwide, have raised an alarm over the "unjustifiable" withholding of their professional certifications despite completing all academic requirements and passing professional examinations.

We need the media's attention to this Nursing certificate issue. NMCN has decided to turn a deaf ear, as they've always done. We should make it loud for the whole world to hear. Lives are being affected.
