"Anyone can do anything if they try hard enough" statements are ableist. If you challenge those who say such things, they'll reply, "I didn't mean disabled people." They are excluding disabled people from "anyone" from the start. That's ableism. 🖤💙😷🥄

One of the best things we can do for the medical needs of any vulnerable group is work towards fixing the things in our society that make them vulnerable in the first place. Good medicine needs to include systemic change and vice versa. 🖤💙😷🥄

If you're disabled and/or chronically ill, stop using "tips and tricks" from health-privileged ableds to chastise yourself. Your body works differently and you're allowed to find your own ways of doing what you need to do within your own parameters. 🖤💙😷🥄

Holidays are a good time to remind you that food has no moral value. You aren't "good" for eating one thing or "bad" for eating another. Some foods are healthier than others but even that varies from person to person. Eat food. Enjoy life. Comfort food has real benefits. 🖤💙😷🥄
