Comparing the two is a bit ridiculous since their components are inherently different. The endings might be similar at first glance, but nothing else is.

CSM ending
it's "theme and such" sums it up perfectly. It's an ending that prioritizes the themes over everything the development, pacing, the world, etc. I can't even be happy for Denji because this one isn't the one I spent the 200+ chapters with

I really hope the anime's soundtrack captures how this was both a comeback and downfall for Denji. Cathartic in the moment to see him find a new will to live, but it's heartbreaking in the long term.
Every time I reread this scene, it sounds something like this to me. 🤞🏾
