@DrClownPhD Its because people wanted a plug and play machine, that can be woken up by a native controller with a dashboard that simplifies the store and gaming library. On top of that, they want a small and moveable pc rig. Its just a shame the ram crisis ruined this dream.

I still don’t understand why people don’t just buy PCs and hook them up to their TVs with an HDMI cable.

"A prebuilt is better!" The Steam Machine is the size of a tissue box, near silent, uses only 140W of power, will be easily repairable, isn't limited to SteamOS and can never be rendered inoperable by a ban or shutdown, and has far cheaper games through Steam. And just works.

@thatgreenracc Its a 1080p machine that costs a grand+. Not only are you sacrificing a ton of performance for convenience but you also sacrifice storage and peripherals unless you are willing to pay 3x the price of what you could get if you build your own or buying prebuilt.

@Rightanglenews Civilians under panic will always run to a Cop. Her training should have prepared her for this, and the ability to identify a threat. This is a drill which is supposed to be trained for. I think she messed up under pressure. Poor trading and preparation.

@Rightanglenews First of all the police knew the shooter was dressed in camo not a tee shirt and jeans. She probably has minimal training to deal with these kind of stressful situations. The in innocent man who was killed by the female officer never stood a chance. Luckily it wasn’t a child.

It's wild to me that people don't understand why someone would want the Steam Machine. IMO: - No Windows driver BS - Couch gaming FTW - Steam games get steeply discounted & more frequently than console games - Future integrations with Deck & Frame

@IGN $1000 for a PC that can barely do 1440p. Its a “console-like” system and yet you need to tweak settings. Doesn’t come with a controller and comes with an abysmal 500gb storage. Yeah just go straight to a prebuilt at this price point or PS5 pro/Switch 2.
