I think players need to realize that if your so worried about classic faces then child safety that is cruel. Child safety wins every time you throw a fit over child safety being buns but when safeguards come out you scream! We need this update and its for our own good. Realize it

Saying this as non-offensively as possible bcz I have many YouTuber friends, but you can’t have it both ways. You either want the platform to be safe for kids, or you don’t, I don’t see any other way around it. Good to see they are locking it down more. Parents helpless I guess.

The real cause of all this internet lockdown is inferior parenting skills. Parents seem to think it's okay to hand little Timmy an iPad at 3 years old and then treat the tablet like an eternal babysitter instead of actually being involved in their child's life.
I was on Roblox at age 12. My computer time was strictly regulated and my parents always knew what I was doing and who I was talking to because that was their job as a parent, to be involved in their kid's life and keep things safe.
There's no excuse for parents today to not do this. Nobody cares how busy you are or how long your to-do list is, you chose to have children - and it not the government nor a corporation's problem to keep your kid safe online.
Reality is most people just fail at being a parent and then act shocked when something bad happens, blaming everyone and everything but themselves.
We need to bring accountability back.

Roblox is changing the eligibility to upload games on the platform. To publish for all ages, you now need: - Roblox Plus; - ID Verification & Age Check; - 2-Step Verification enabled; - and have your account in "good standing". Roblox will additionally run games through trials to ensure engagement is legitimate and not from fake or bot accounts. To publish for Ages 16+ & Trusted Friends, you now need: - An account in "good standing"; - An age check; and - An account that is at least 2 days old. Any user on the platform, whether they meet any of the requirements, can still publish games for personal use. Roblox is stating they chose this requirements because "most creators already meet many of the criteria" and it will "make it more difficult for bad actors to bypass our moderation systems". Lastly, Roblox will make that transition by providing 100,000 users with a Free Roblox Plus subscription for 6 months. To be eligible, a user may have a minimum of 100 hours of total playtime on their game in the past month & no major violations of Roblox's Community Standards.

Am I the only one that actually REALLY agrees with this update? I feel like $5 a month is nothing compared to what other platform upload fees are. Also, this is extremely beneficial to online safety. I’m not saying this would fully stop it, but it definitely will greatly decrease the amount of these perverted con/club games weirdos post on Roblox.
I fully understand not everyone is able to afford the $5 a month fee, especially young creators who have no income… I see that perspective. However, overall I think this is the best thing Roblox could do to keep the platform safe 👀

Starting in June 2026, Roblox will be introducing two new types of accounts: Roblox Kids for users ages 5 to 8 and Roblox Select for users ages 9 to 15.
Each account type will have limited access to certain features for safety.
