@CheekyMark1917 Most cities do a half-assed ban. Shanghai bans fireworks in the main city area. My friends who live in the inner city don't hear fireworks unless it's the New Year. Where I live it's every other day😂😂😂 Truly 天高皇帝远😭

@StewedMarimo They’re banned in most cities now I think but the law is widely ignored. Odd for a totalitarian country. 😉 I go to the little village up the road to enjoy them. They don’t give a fuck there. 😂 Something about the Emperor being far away 😉

The streets were very quiet tonight, apparently, everyone's gone on vacation. Had a nice time walking my dog until literally the last minute when we were not 5 meters from the entrance to our building. Fireworks went off across the road, and the mutt flew up the stairs😂😂😂

@StewedMarimo Me too. But there’s a serious point there somewhere. Many Western people, robots really, bang on about Freedom and Democracy, and perhaps not 1 in 10,000 could give decent definitions. Both *Freedom* and *Democracy* are contested concepts and have been for at least 2500 years.
