- The Mike Gundy elevator story When I was working at Oklahoma State I was told not to bother Coach Gundy, don't speak unless spoken too. I followed this religiously. Coach didn't, he'd poke his head into our office and say hello or ask us what we working on. He was the most personable Coach I ever encountered. One day coming back from lunch we just happened to hop on the elevator at the same time. "Coach." I said as he walked on. He was just getting back from the espn car wash. "Joe, they made fun of my mullet, think I should cut it?" "Coach when they talk about your mullet, they're talking about Oklahoma State too." There was a long pause. "Fuck 'em, I ain't getting rid of my mullet."
