“The men and women who wear our uniform are being used as pawns to foment the profits of a murderous cabal.
The effects of their greed will come at a cost that this country and the world at large should not be forced to bear. We’ve attacked over ten thousand targets in Iran including civilian infrastructure - the attacks on their power plants that Trump keeps threatening would be an unequivocal war crime and that fact barely gets mentioned in the coverage of his prevarications (and outright lies) in regards to negotiating a cease fire with what is left of the the Iranian regime’s leadership.
The dumbest man in the world is in so far over his head - and has seemingly lost all interest in the war he started on a whim to grant the wishes of Saudi Arabia’s MBS and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
That is not to say he got into it by accident or his demented arrogance and strategic ignorance were not fully in play at the genesis of this cataclysmic folly. This may in fact be Trump’s Gallipoli but he and those around him will not pay the price, they will continue to profit obscenely from the violence.
As I have said many times before, Trump feels most alive when others are suffering -and when he feels he wields the power of life and death over others.
They will also use this war as a way to further erode our civil liberties and economic and legislative freedom. POTUS has sent the global economy into chaos, which began a year ago with his idiotic tariffs (not a single member of his Cabinet had the courage to point out to him how destructive they would be to the U.S. economy and our allies; they were all too seduced by the insider trading windfalls) which raised prices on consumers and retailers so quickly that it sent financial markets into a tailspin.
The Trump administration has now taken that act on the road; much of Asia and many of our European trading partners will pay a huge price in the output of their economies and domestic production, while the Trump administration alone profits from the destruction.” open.substack.com/pub/noelcasler…

Mrs Mabel Fairbanks was The first black woman to break into competitive figure skating. She was Self taught because she was denied formal training.
Born in 1915, she developed an interest in skating as a young girl, but access to ice rinks and professional coaching was limited for Black athletes. Many skating clubs did not allow Black members, and she was denied formal training because of her race.
As a result, Fairbanks became largely self-taught. She practiced by watching others and repeating what she saw, developing her own technique without the support that most competitive skaters relied on.
Even as her skills improved, she faced restrictions that prevented her from competing in major national championships. Despite this, she continued skating and remained active in the sport.
Her impact became even more significant later in her career.
Fairbanks went on to become a coach and mentor, training several successful skaters, including Olympic medalists. Through her coaching, she helped open pathways for future generations of Black athletes in figure skating, a sport that had long excluded them.
She was later recognized for her contributions and inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame.

Rubio has become a prime example of the MAGA cult mentality. He has compromised his own principles in order to follow the cult leader.
Rubio is now wearing shoes that do not fit, yet he is too afraid to admit it.

It is difficult to imagine any US leader who could cause more harm to US foreign policy than Trump: 1. Since he lies all the time, he has wasted all US credibility. 2. Since he pursues trade wars against all purported allies, he is in war with all allies. 3. Since he has started a madcap war against Iran without asking anybody but Israel, he has caused many allies to be attacked for no cause of their own. Conclusions: 1. The US is unable to be an ally of anybody as long as Trump remains US president. 2. Thus, all US "alliances" have lost content. 3. All countries with US bases need to reconsider: Aren't these bases a reason for attack on us, while offering no defense or even consultation. 4. Trump has destroyed the whole US security architecture of the last 80 years out of either stupidity or treason. The cost to the US will be horrendous.

This is absolutely infuriating and completely idiotic.
An estimated 95,000 scientists and researchers have left federal agencies since Trump returned to the White House. These are the people tracking hurricanes, studying pediatric cancer, and modeling the climate tipping points that determine whether we can still prevent catastrophe.
We lost them because this administration defunded their work, shuttered their offices, and made clear that finding out the truth is no longer a government priority.
NASA’s own administrator just said studying climate change isn’t part of NASA’s mission. The agency that first warned Congress about global warming in 1988 now treats that work as a distraction.
Meanwhile, China and Europe are recruiting our scientists, funding their labs, and making long-term bets on the industries of the future while we gut the research infrastructure that took generations to build.
We are surrendering global scientific leadership voluntarily, deliberately, and one resignation letter at a time.
