I said I wouldn’t say anything about Neymar and Rooney, but after seeing your tweet last night, I had to speak.
If Barcelona were to line up their greatest XI, maybe Neymar makes it, maybe he doesn’tand that’s because of the ridiculous level of legends ahead of him:
Ronaldinho
Rivaldo
Romario
Maradona
Henry
These are players who left massive legacies at the club. So breaking into that XI is not just about talent, it’s about history, impact, and what you delivered in that shirt.
Now compare that to Manchester United. How many players have actually reached that level there? The competition is not the same.
Barcelona have consistently attracted and produced generational talents. The depth of legends there is simply different from what you see in the Premier League.
So Rooney making Manchester United’s greatest XI doesn’t automatically elevate him above Neymar. If anything, it highlights the gap in historical competition.
