This is great work by the Knicks. The Spurs defense wants Wemby out of the main action. Knicks want him in. Brunson glances to the right corner to make sure OG/KAT are in position. OG runs up to screen but the Knicks know Wemby will pre-switch. He clears. Now Wemby has to switch to KAT. The Knicks, by placing OG and KAT on the same side, guarantee Wemby in the action. Brunson does the rest.

@Jubbitie @RussCastle5 @aryh21 That’s a tall 6’7” with a 7”+ reach. He’s blocking shots in the half court and on the fast breaks. OG can head up and also roam. Wemby makes teams gameplan for him and it 9/10 won’t matter but you can’t gameplan for OG. He’s a wildcard who can guard anyone on any given play.

He won’t have the defense overthinking layups because he’s usually never roaming around the basket. Wemby is the biggest vertical threat in NBA history on both offense AND defense

@Jubbitie @RussCastle5 @aryh21 It’s not that Brunson is playing bad. The Spurs wing defenders are elite, and they have multiple. Brunson is working hard for his shots, they aren’t coming easy. We have to live and die with Brunson, but OG is the perfect 1B/2nd option. He scores on everyone

Brunson hit several clutch shots on the road, finally looked like himself in G3 and captained the comeback in G4. The game isn’t all about stats; the Knicks will live and die with Jalen Brunson
