🚨Paper Alert! 🚨
Size-selective harvesting drives genomic shifts in a harvested population
Using a model experimental system, we demonstrate size selection shifts genomic architecture and reduces genetic diversity.

Does anyone have access to this paper that they can share? (Sci-hub is letting me down)

@Fish_Fetisher It would be great to discuss some of your work, you do some real cool stuff! I already have your talk on my schedule 😄

🚨Belated life update🚨
I have started a postdoc position in the Pespeni lab at the University of Vermont!
This time I’ll be researching sea urchin population genetics, looking at genotype to phenotype effects across multiple stressors!

We also found similar patterns of directional selection in our phenotypic data!

🚨 Paper Alert 🚨
Using genetic markers of stress we find that directional selection impacts rDNA and telomere length, however, direction of such selection did not matter! whereas mtDNA acts as a stress marker for temperature.

This weeks the week, I will be defending my PhD this Friday!

Looking forward to discussing the last 4 years of my life...

🚨 Paper Alert 🚨

We find that fish experiencing directional selection when harvesting perform worse than fish experiencing random selection under thermal stress scenarios.
