📚📚📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚📚📚 "Verity," by Colleen Hoover, is a diversion away from Hoover's typical romance genre into suspense and maybe a little horror. As a huge Stephen King fan, I'm good with horror. Also, parts of this book reminded me of Caroline Kepnes' "You" series, of which I am obsessed. As these are two of my favorite authors, for me, Hoover upped the ante with "Verity." I read my first Hoover novel a month or two ago, and "Verity" is now my 4th one. So, I'm very much enjoying her novels. I hope she writes more books in this genre, though. I feel that there is a wealth of suspense novels in her waiting to get out. I also think that the more she writes, the better she'll get. "Verity" is suspenseful, and I read most of it in one day. I found it difficult to put down, and I had no idea how it was going to end. I had my guesses, of course, but I was wrong. The only place this book fell flat for me was with the medical parts. I didn't find some of it very believable. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm right. It's just the way I felt reading the book. *SPOILER* I had a hard time believing someone could fake a coma for an extended period of time. Especially in a hospital setting in America. Furthermore, all the sneaking around and not getting caught, except by those intended. Eh, I'm not buying it. Also, what was April's deal? Was she aware of the ruse? Was she in on it? *END SPOILER* I'm giving the book 4 out of 5 stars. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Have you read this book? If so, what did you think of Hoover's genre switch? Do you like her better as a romance or suspense writer? #bookreview #Verity #ColleenHoover #bookblogger #CoHorts #CoHo #bookreviewer
