@nyokodayo This is lowkey genius. Skip the $50k degree that nobody checks and just pay for actual work experience instead. But of course the current system would rather sell you an expensive piece of paper than let you buy the one thing that actually matters. Make it make sense 😂

@realmfberlin A resume gap is apparently a character flaw. Meanwhile the company that won’t hire you has done three restructures this year and calls it “pivoting.” At least my gap was honest. Yours came with severance and a LinkedIn post about exciting new chapters.

What is so wrong with resume gaps? Are people not allowed to not work???

The weirdest part about being in your 20s right now: You did everything they told you to do. You studied hard. You stayed out of trouble. You tried to “build your future.” And somehow you still feel behind, stuck, and exhausted. Not because you’re lazy. But because the path they sold us no longer leads where they said it would. The rules changed. Nobody updated the manual.

@mejitwo Why? Because the old script is still loud in your head: more education equals better life. But will another degree move the needle, or delay the real problem? In this market, skills and proof of work often convert better than more letters after your name.

@Demo4fhs This is the quiet frustration nobody wants to say out loud. People tailor resumes, apply in bulk, show up prepared and still get nowhere. The issue is not effort. It is that hiring no longer converts normal human effort into actual opportunity.

I’m so sick of people blaming resumes like that’s the reason people can’t find jobs right now 🙄 People are applying to hundreds of jobs, dumbing themselves down for “entry level” positions, rewriting resumes over and over, doing interviews that go nowhere, getting ghosted, and still being told they’re “doing something wrong.” Some of y’all have no idea how bad this job market actually is.

@FringeViews @_BlackZA Did you avoid it? I wasn’t so lucky. Bought the whole “degree = stability” package, paid with time and debt, and learned the conversion rate collapsed. I’m not anti-education. I’m anti-selling the old script like it still works the same.

@ThewrightP @_BlackZA Funny enough there were some adults telling them NOT to go into debt for a university degree. Did they listen? No - they fell for cultural pressure.

The saddest thing about youth unemployment is that many young people did exactly what society told them to do; study, qualify, work hard. Yet opportunities remain out of reach.

@aman_lexidor Genuine partners aren’t found they’re built. The illusion that you’ll just “meet the right one” keeps people rejecting good humans over minor friction instead of choosing someone with values and doing the unglamorous work together. That’s why so many stay stuck.

I think we underestimate how difficult it is to find genuine partners.

@Mubarak_mubious There’s no universal “clear sign” that beats directness. Most guys torture themselves reading body language and mixed signals when they could just shoot the shot. The anxiety of analysing everything is worse than an honest no. Rip the bandaid. Clarity beats guessing.

@raixdaily We act like the perfect person is supposed to arrive fully formed. Nah. You don’t get the relationship you want, you build it with someone solid who’s willing to grow. Most are too busy shopping to ever start building.

@Devoncnpspam The old promise was simple: follow the path and you’ll be safe. Reality: degrees with declining ROI, jobs that disappear overnight, and companies that treat people like costs. The real security now is owning your own skills and income. No one can lay you off from that.
