The land given to Oklahoma (known as the Red River area or "Greer County") was not given up to keep slaves. The area was in dispute due to unclear language in the treaty that ended the independence war with Mexico, and it was later determined to be part of Oklahoma when Oklahoma became a state in 1907.🌝🌝🌝
