The great Len Deighton dead ( he wouldnt have wanted euphemisms) at 97. Here's my 1962 paperback of Ipcress ( the best of all spy films by the way) - I devoured a his novels but also his " cookstrips" which really taught me how to do it..

"The Tottenham Hotspur players face wage cuts if relegated from PL. Most contracts include clauses to lower salary (vast majority by ~50%) in event of going down. Provision placed in all deals under Levy so THFC have some financial protection." - David Ornstein, The Athletic #COYS #THFC

Sometimes in life you need to defend yourself. I will NOT have my good, professional reputation ruined by a couple idiots online just making ridiculous things up, judging my character and questioning my integrity, my loyalty and love for Spurs. On Sunday, Fulham away will be my 75th Spurs related game on this season, covering the men’s first team, the U21s and the U18s and the Women’s team, home and away, as well as pre-season in South Korea, Hong Kong and Germany. On social media, I am extremely careful what I post, how I post and what I say on various platforms. I have always maintained a good level of professionalism, am also polite and friendly, have never used “clickbait” and have a lot of respect from a lot of professional people who work in the football industry. I am extremely proud that I run and host the most watched and listened to Tottenham related YouTube channel and podcast and with that comes a lot of responsibility, so I am very careful what goes out and how things are worded. In the last few days, I have learnt a lot about people, social media, the people who want to stir trouble, the many individuals who just want to bring you down without even the story, the background, and many of these people don’t even know me or have met me. Most aren’t even young and naïve, they are full grown adults who are jealous, they are here online to hate, be negative and want to cause trouble to others. I’ve also learnt a lot from certain individuals who haven’t said a word, when they know the fully story. Social media, particularly X, can be vile at times, but surely people can have a mind of their own, think for themselves and not be led my idiots, liars, stirrers and jealous individuals. If you don’t know the back story, I posted a video on Sunday, during the North London derby, showing Tudor talking to his defence asking them to “push up”, he was talking to his whole defence and my caption on X was “Igor Tudor is constantly at Micky van de Ven, telling the back-line to push up!” Earlier I posted another post “Igor Tudor seems to be very hands-on early on, having chats with van de Ven, Bissouma, Spence and Sarr.” – NOTHING in these two posts were inaccurate, clickbait or were aimed to cause trouble or negatively, and Tudor himself in the press conference confirmed he was talking to his “whole defence” – as I stated. What happened following the post, people took it upon themselves to create their own narrative, and despite watching the video themselves many went on to criticise and say all sorts, some media outlets picked this up and they also created 1,001 stories. It’s extremely weird how so many have a problem with what I wrote (facts) and if you go onto many of their profiles they have been slating the club all season, the manager(s), the players and the fans, pretty much everything. This season hasn’t been a good one on the pitch and I get the frustration. Anyone that actually knows me knows what sort of person I am and I shouldn’t be explaining myself here; but try questioning the people who created all these narratives, made lies up, created headlines, etc, it simply wasn’t me. The other thing that is extremely weird with some, people assume so much about me, without asking, like YouTube is my job, it isn’t. And only last week I was a “happy clapper” and “he works for the club!” And now I apparently want to bring the club down and slate a player. No, absolutely not. What will it be next week? Some have agendas, I get it, some see I run a very successful channel and they want the same. People always want what you have – that’s life. I work very hard in a professional way every day, constantly evolving in what I do on a daily basis and always try to remain positive, something else I am often criticised for… Would I really have a channel that has had 190 million views and over 207,000 subscribers if I acted the way some have stated? Like I said, 75 games so far this season, and this is also something I get criticised for – how can you get criticised by supporting the club all over?! What a crazy world we live in. Tottenham Hotspur is my passion, I love the club, Life is far too short, want to follow me, fine, don’t want to follow, no problem at all, don’t like what I do or don’t agree with my opinions, I don’t care about numbers, how many clicks, how many followers, etc - no hard feelings at all – just block, we all move on, but have a mind of your own, don’t scapegoat people. This is the last I will say on this matter, and it’s also the last time I write something like this on X explaining myself. And many thanks to the people who have reached out in the last few days. Have a great weekend and let’s hope for three points at Craven Cottage. #COYS #THFC

In 1943, Black American soldiers arrived in Lancashire.🇬🇧🇺🇸 Back home, they couldn't eat in the same restaurants as white people. Couldn't drink in the same bars. The locals didn't care about any of that. They said come in. Same pubs. Same pints. Same welcome as everyone else. They danced together. Drank together. Walked through the village together. One soldier said he didn't know he was coloured until he looked in the mirror. Then the US commanders tried to stop it. They demanded the village separate them. Every pub refused. A barmaid called Gillian Vesey served whoever was next. No exceptions. Military police walked into a pub and tried to arrest a soldier for wearing the wrong uniform. A British soldier stood up. "Why do you want to arrest them? They're not doing anything wrong." That night, things turned violent. A soldier was killed. The commanding general blamed the white officers. Racist officers were removed. The soldiers went home. But they carried something with them. The memory of a place that treated them like people. One veteran said: "These soldiers were never going back to accept being treated as less." "None of us were." A small Lancashire village showed them what was possible. Not by marching. Not by protesting. Just by being decent. They didn't think they were being brave. They were just being British.🇬🇧 This is who we are. Help us show the world. proudofus.co.uk/support Be part of us. Be Proud Of Us. 🇬🇧
