People just like to cry about everything online. I am a fan of the series and played all games...and think the new movie looks interesting. It is different from what I expected, but that's why I am intrigued. First and foremost I want to see a good movie and I have hopes that Zach can deliver something good. I skipped most of the older adaptions...maybe they stayed closer to the source material, but they looked cheezy as hell. If you adapt games 1:1 as movies it will in most cases result in something mediocre or bad. As long as the movie gets the feeling and the lore right, I am in favor for something more creative like this.
English

I don’t get what Resident Evil fans are complaining about.
We got 6 movies that were dumb fun, not great. A Netflix show most people skipped. And a reboot that stayed closer to the games, and still got hated.
Now Zach Cregger is taking a different route. Not copying the games scene by scene. Not doing another loose adaptation. Something adjacent. Same universe. New story.
It’s the same idea Telltale Games used with The Walking Dead.
Original characters. Familiar world. And it worked because it respected the tone instead of repeating the plot.
That approach makes sense here.
You already know the story of Raccoon City. The characters. The beats. Doing it again does nothing.
A new story inside that world has more room to breathe.

Zach Cregger says his RESIDENT EVIL is taking place during the events of Resident Evil 2. "I feel like this movie takes place alongside the events of RE 2. I like to think that everything that's going on in the police station could be happening in this world. This is just another dude on another mission on the other side of town."
English

@casstlefreak The hype worked against it for me. I expected a creepy horror movie and in that regard it doesn't work for me...but it is an entertaining movie with some great ideas.
English

@DiscussingFilm Doesn't look or feel like Resident Evil, but the trailer looks very cool. Really looking forward to see how this turns out.
English

@Selinnaria @WalmartCAGaming You think so? I like Fable and played all past games....but so far the trailers of the new one haven't sparked any interest in me. It looks so bland. I think I will wait for the user reviews.
English

@Followthefloodl @iam_sijo99 Completely agree. It's a good movie but for sure not in the top 5
English

@iam_sijo99 The most overhyped film at number 1 , again . Not bad by any means but number 1.

It is understandable that countries don't want to be overly dependent on supply chains, but it is ridiculous that China is always painted as the bad guy. They didn't force this on anyone, they are just highly efficient at what they are doing. Europe should learn how to do competitive business again instead of coming up with even more regulations.
English

🚨 Europe just drew a line in the sand against China.
China just told Europe to erase it.
The EU’s new Industrial Accelerator Act is the most aggressive decoupling move Europe has ever made.
Any country controlling 40%+ of global production in batteries, EVs, solar or critical minerals faces hard investment restrictions in Europe.
China is the only country that hits that threshold in every single sector.
EVs sold under EU public contracts now require 70%+ European-made components.
The EU Commission’s own words: “If we do nothing, soon 100% of clean technology will be manufactured in China.”
Beijing responded Monday with a direct threat.
China’s Ministry of Commerce warned it will take “countermeasures” if any Chinese company is harmed by this law.
The US-China trade war is already running hot.
Now Europe just opened a second front.
Three of the world’s four largest economies are decoupling at the same time.
The global supply chains built over 30 years are being taken apart in real time.
If you want to know where I’m deploying capital next, turn on notifications this is VERY important.
Many people will regret not following me.

@Pirat_Nation He is right and wrong at the same time. AI can be a valid tool to make workflows easier and test things quickly...but it is a marketing lie that it doesn't replace people. It always does. Without automation you would have to hire someone to do the jobs.
English

The director The Blood of Dawnwalker, supports AI in game development, but only to help people to work and not replacing them (like a lot of companys are doing)
“My approach to AI is like this: I think that companies should use AI but in a way which helps people to work, not replace the people.
We should use AI to help our people to work and take from them these tasks which are annoying and frustrating and allow them to do this more fun work. It should make our life easier but it shouldn’t replace people at all.”
The team used AI to generate voices for dialogue but ONLY for testing before final recordings because are really expensive..
Co-founder Tomasz Tinc says the finished game contains no generative AI content:
“Nothing that’s in The Blood of Dawnwalker was created using generative AI, nothing. People with their blood and flesh made this game from the beginning till the end.”

@Pirat_Nation No, it doesn't. If you can read Japanese you knew that not all posts were nice... it is an open platform.
...to be honest, the percentage of hateful stuff posted in the English speaking part of X is so much worse. The few Japanese posters don't stick out at all.
English

Former Japanese television presenter and YouTuber Kanon Aoki has warned that X’s automatic translation tool is damaging Japan’s international reputation as a polite and harmonious society.
She explains that the feature now exposes blunt or negative online comments from some Japanese users to global audiences, revealing opinions on topics like tourism and cultural norms that were previously hidden by language barriers.

It all depends how it all comes together in the end. Fable was cartoonish and it was fun to be an exaggerated villain. The trailers for the new one don't look like it will offer this spectrum of play. Looks more like all other RPGs out there. I always liked Fable, but the new one doesn't spark my interest so far. I will wait for player reviews...
English

There is nothing unique about the old consequence system it was a vedy semplify and cartonish way to show evil and good, it has been done many many times, the genre has evolved snd become way better then how it was, regressing to these old system without any depth compare to better alternatives it would be a downgrade on all fromt, since then we had games that do these way better like Baldurs gate 3 and Kingdom come deliverance for example, the new consequence system in the new fable game brings something more unique and more in depth to it
English

"I don't know why they've done that."
The original Fable trilogy creator, Peter Molyneux, reacted to the morality system in the original series being changed in the reboot, where it will not alter your character's appearance.

@tricktser @FaerunSiren Yeah, I never understood the hype for the new games. After GoW3 it felt disappointing. All the brutality and epic scale boss battles were gone...
English

@FaerunSiren Original GoW was crazy good. I play the new one and I am sitting there one cut scene after another waiting for my turn to play the game and it offers me to press B as hard as possible, and sometimes not even that, the boy just kills the enemy and that's the game.
English

@IGN ...if they got rid of "good and evil" the consequences could be even more significant. In the old Fable games the world changed as well. There is a good chance they also got rid of that.
English

@FervorGamingYT @IGN ..but it showed that your actions had consequences. It was unique. Without any changes your decisions have a lot less impact.
English

@SicklyTheNinJa What about the hammer? Do you have to use it a second time later on? ^^
English

@GamewithDave Quake. Nothing comes even close. It was the game that pushed online gaming and modding like no other, pushed graphics to a level that led to mass adaption of GPUs and transformed the whole industry on multiple levels
English

@oliver_drk Sometimes it is not about the game, but about the timing: the game looks cool and I wishlisted it myself...but currently there is so much stuff out that it will have a hard time.
English

The typical Steam player puts a much anticipated game on wishlist and... waits for a 80% fire sale (despite good reviews for Replaced).

REPLACED - Out Now!@REPLACEDGame
REPLACED has been wishlisted over 1 million times! 🤯 Thank you so much for the support, and we can't wait for you to play REPLACED today at 4 PM CEST / 7 AM PDT
English

@Pirat_Nation An absolute shame. Maybe the game was too brutal for a mass audience at launch, but it had the best/tightest combat system out there. Sure, not everything about it was perfect, but the gameplay and especially the boss fights were perfect.
English

Neople has dissolved the The First Berserker: Khazan development team just days after Nexon CEO praised the game
The game launched last March and reached nearly 30,000 concurrent PC players at its peak, but sales later declined.
Most of the roughly 100 developers have now been reassigned internally to other projects.

English

@Grummz Hm, I don't get it. Fable always was about making good or evil decisions. I am only afraid the dialled down evil behaviour. In the old games the easiest way was to simply kill the residents so you could buy their empty houses afterwards.
English

AAA is so fucked.
This…this does not make me want to play Fable.
wtf is this landlords are awful sim? Did Hasan consult on the game?
Fable@fable
🏠 Buy a house. 👋 Evict a tenant. ☠️ Get called awful. It’s all part of being a Hero, apparently. #Fable #FableTheGame
English

@moneywcontext @Pirat_Nation Yeah. I saw the trailers and it looked like a cool concept. I had also no idea it was already released....huge marketing fail.
English

@Pirat_Nation Genuinely, I have never heard of it.
Could be the best game in the world, if nobody knows about it, it won't sell...
And accoring to this chart, it's not the best game in the world.
Basically all ~5000 who tried it seem to agree!

English

@FiresOfTruth ...and this season the contestants have to take care not to damage the wooden floor
