@Topple P.S. Loved working with @Topple on #Transparent (2018) — you guys really ensured that your cast and crew become family. #circle

The characters and the script are two pieces of the same puzzle. There is first the soul of a character, maybe you don’t even know their name. Maybe their name keeps changing every time you write a new scene for them. Until finally the words start to feel right.

I like to limit the number of hours I write per day so that when I’m not working, I can wonder. And ask questions and then get excited about the answers. #ARRAYNow

It’s weird but I don’t have a lot of mentors coming to mind because I never liked to ask for help. And I ultimately don’t think it’s that easy for other people to guide you to success. Truth is, the filmmaking has to be something you would do no matter what. 1/3

@Topple @ARRAYNow @Topple How did you go about developing your directorial voice before the breakthrough? And what was the journey that lead to someone willing to take a risk on your vision? How early in your career did you find a champion mentor?#ARRAYNow

@indietrailers I’ve had filmmakers give me great advice on this. Make your trailer just as important as you make your film. You have to take the lead at every single turn, and that doesn’t mean arguing with the marketing team,
