@edrovera Cog load depends on the task being requested as well as the root knowledge of the learner. Situated cog relies on the learners environment and what is gleaned from it as to what they learn &hence produce. Memory, heuristics, all work on cog load, so CL is not the end all be all.

Cognitive load is far more important an aspect of education, especially simulation education, than most people realize. Measuring a person’s specific load balance in a given situation is difficult but not impossible.
