With respect, and I genuinely mean that; Jesus was a Galilean Hebrew/Israelite who lived fully as an "Ioudaios" (the term the New Testament uses, usually translated 'Jew' in the 1500s) within the Judaism of His day, (Second Temple period), with its Temple, Torah, feasts, and scriptures centered on Jerusalem. He was circumcised, kept Passover, taught from the Hebrew Bible, and even said 'salvation is from the Jews' (John 4:22). The label 'Jew' grew out of 'Judean' (from the southern kingdom), but by the first century it already covered the broader covenant people and their religion, even for those in Galilee. But "Jews" rejected him, and so Christianity "The Way", was created. The "Jews" that rejected Christ, remained Jews, ans those that accepted Christ as their saviour, became "Christians". Islam didn't exist until the 7th century, so calling Him a "Muslim" is pure anachronism - like calling Abraham a "Christian". You can debate theology about who Jesus is, but the historical setting is straightforward from the Gospels themselves. Neither Jew not Muslim can claim Jesus. They both reject him, his teachings, and the New Testament. You can *all* believe in whomever you wish, but us Christians, especially Catholics, are getting a bit fed up as everyone claiming Him as "theirs", without actually wanting to commit to him and become a Christian or Catholic, so both sides can just stop it, because its doing neither of you any favours, and it causing "antisemitism", as Christians, like me, are being forced to defend their faith and history.
