Why would anyone with 2 working braincells involve themselves in a situation that blew up because the person in question decided to respond with a personal attack against very mild criticism. And then chose to double, triple and quadruple down only digging themselves further down. She could have called him a retard for not reading where she explained what she meant. She could have ignored him. She could have blocked him (he was not the first one to call her a hypocrite).
