We have more practicum experiences to share! Lauren Vetter was at Morley Elementary last semester in a 4th grade classroom. She loved seeing students start to understand a topic and even had one student say “I love it when you teach, it makes so much sense!”. Way to go Lauren!

This past Friday, The Future Teachers of Color hosted their end of the year potluck! Multi-cultural education is very important to TSA and connecting with people through these events keeps us motivated to have a safe place as they further their education. Here are 6 TSA members!!

Emma recalls a lot of favorite memories, but one that sticks out to her is when one of her students came and gave her a hug because they were going to miss her over Thanksgiving break and at the end of the semester. “They are so sweet!!”

Junior Emma Gordon has just finished her practicum in a 3rd grade class at Belmont Elementary! Emma has taken full advantage of the opportunities she’s been given and through the experience has learned important classroom management skills.

Her favorite part about working with 5th graders is how hilarious they are. Her students are so random, but never fail to brighten her day!

3rd year Bailee White has been spending the semester at Elliot Elementary teaching 5th graders for her practicum! The most important thing she has learned is how mutual respect within a classroom creates an environment where everyone can grow together.

UNL Teacher Scholars want to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate!

TSA first years spent a day bonding and getting to know one another through sharing stories and showing valuable possessions. They also brainstormed products to solve problems teachers might face through a shark tank inspired presentation!
