Potential major DRM issue rolled out by PlayStation (and Xbox as well, allegedly). All new PSN purchases now have a 30 day validation countdown. Already investigating to find out more details.

Hugely terrible DRM has now been rolled out to all PS4 and PS5 digital games. Every digital game you buy now requires an online check-in every 30 days. If you buy a digital game and don't connect your console to the internet for 30 days, your license will be removed.

@MODDED_WARFARE Crazy number of people in the replies who have absolutely no idea how PSN licensing works and are just erratically guessing about “not if you activate console as primary!” Or “misinformation been debunked months ago!” Muting notifications, these morons can eat themselves.

this was a thoughtfully laid out review. the only thing i disagree with it is that it says Saros tries to retrofit "prestige Sony theater" into a hardcore bullet hell shooter when Returnal didn't, but i always thought Returnal did too. but sounds like Saros leans in even harder.

I’ll be one of the players fighting my way through SAROS, for the Nth time, when it releases next week. I’ll enjoy it just as much as I enjoyed Returnal, back when I had no idea I’d one day have the privilege of continuing the legacy that game created. We’re just getting started

nothing's set in stone here so who knows. but personally i never once thought you can't "put the genie back in the bottle." sure you can. just because it's unprecedented doesn't mean companies can't just change their minds. look at how unpredictable everything else is.
