St. Luke’s Hospital is once again ranked No. 1 in Iowa on Newsweek/Statista’s America’s Best-In-State Hospitals list for 2026. This marks our eighth appearance on the list since 2019 and our second consecutive year in the top spot.

UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Hospital is proud to partner with the Mother’s Milk Bank of Iowa to offer the first breast milk bank dispensary location in Linn County, expanding access to safe, pasteurized donor milk for families in need of supplemental breast milk.

We're pleased to announce the appointment of Kristin McVay, MSN, MHA, RN, as CNO, effective Nov. 3. McVay succeeds Carmen Kleinsmith, who's retiring after a 42-year nursing career at St. Luke’s. McVay brings more than 20 years of healthcare experience at UnityPoint Health.

Newborns & children transported to St. Luke’s will soon breathe easier thanks to a $28,523.50 grant from @VarietyGB to purchase a Hamilton T1 portable ventilator. St. Luke’s annually transports approximately 40-50 children, ages birth to 17, who need ventilation during transport.

Congrats to 𝗗𝗼𝘂𝗴 𝗟𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗱, recipient of St. Luke's Foundation 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱. He has given >$185,000 to the Foundation, served as VP of business development for the hospital and was on the Foundation Board of Directors, among numerous other boards.
