🚨I was tired of wasting hours doing something After Effects should have made easy… so I built my own script. 😩
I just finished building my own After Effects script.
I spent a few days working with Claude to build it, and I call it "My Property Linker."
One issue I’ve always faced in After Effects is selecting multiple properties (sometimes hundreds) and linking them to a null. Then adding a slider to that null so I can connect expressions.
If you work in motion design, you already know how painfully slow this process can be.
So I decided to build a faster solution.
That’s how Property Linker was born.
Property Linker allows you to:
- Quickly select properties across hundreds of layers
- Instantly apply expressions
- Link them to a null without the usual repetitive process
- And quickly set keyframes with minimal stress
The keyframe part was important to me because the stopwatch icon can get confusing sometimes, especially when a property already has keyframes and you want to add a new one without messing up the existing animation.
Right now, I’m still facing a small challenge: I am still trying to figure out how to add scroll bars after docking the panel (probably a skill issue on my end 😩).
I’m still improving the script, and I’d really love you guys to test it out and give me feedback.
