I had pretty much lost faith in the UK government’s ability to regulate AI fairly, after they proposed handing creatives’ work to AI companies for free.
But there are new ministers working on tech & AI, and their response to the Grok debacle has been superb.
Increasingly hopeful that it is a sign these new ministers will be less subservient to US big tech, and will actually stand up for the British people.

I agree with Ro Khanna on both counts: Jonathan Ross should not be protected and hidden away by the federal government. If he is truly innocent of murder, he needs to be found and brought back to prove his innocence. He fled the scene of a crime, with his weapon.
And no ICE agent, no federal “law enforcement” should ever be allowed to hide their identity or prevent video footage of their activities from getting out.

they began the Civil War with little notice: except it's the US government with an anonymous ICE army waging warfare on citizens. focus now is on brown- & Black-skinned persons in Minneapolis & their white defenders/friends (like Rene Good); but will probably soon spread, with new ICE agents swarming into urban areas in Democratic states. in this Civil War, ICE has all the weapons & the "law" on its side; the rest of us, unarmed, unorganized, unprepared, quixotically committed to US laws.
