Why in the name of the wee man would anybody think that Ange Postecoglu would be remotely interested in the Scotland job? 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Fairly sad news, given this is Scotland's most successful manager ever. The players will be devastated. Three tournaments reached and the other missed out on via a playoff. Steve Clarke deserves huge credit for his achievements over seven years - a length of tenure that just doesn't happen in modern football. Even more so given he's ended it by resigning despite a 4 year contract. However this is probably the right decision. Three tournaments have ended in major disappointment, and we have rarely played well for the last two years. It's hard for fans to see what we're doing at times and a refresh is required. It feels like the right time and even the manager, 1 year ago, said he was 75% sure he would leave after the tournament. To then announce a 4-year contract before the tournament was inexplicable and reflects poorly on the SFA. You have to be incredibly nervous to see who they appoint next, given the candidates available. Derek McIness would have been the most viable Scotsman but won't be attainable right now. If looking abroad then former Denmark manager Kasper Hjulmand has just left Bayer Leverkusen. If he'd come, Ange Postecoglou may be the most popular shout behind only David Moyes. The Everton manager is older than Clarke and doing well in England again so appears highly unlikely any time soon. Wales appointed a prominent ex-player in Craig Bellamy so someone like Darren Fletcher wouldn't shock me. He's the Manchester United under-18s head coach, which is the same experience Steven Gerrard had before going to Rangers and then Aston Villa. The Scotland national job shouldn't be a manager's first gig, but given The Old Firm is a bigger draw than international football, it highlights to me how difficult this appointment will be. Former Hearts manager Steven Naismith is on the coaching staff and I wouldn't be surprised if he gets it on a temporary basis. Ian Cathro was ridiculed in Scotland but has a better reputation on the continent, and has just signed a two-year deal with Saint-Etienne. If he does well there then he may well be the front-runner in future years. We will almost certainly qualify for Euro 2028 due to the 2 spots held in reserve for hosts. This means we will be in the unusual position of being able to appoint someone and even if it's a complete disaster we could still change it in 2 years and bring someone else in for the tournament. Probably Steve Clarke on a 2 month contract. #Nervous

@We_The_Unique @SlotIsABadGoth I get what you’re saying, but they are regulars and you gotta expect a bad tournament here and there. This was huge for you guys. Scottish football is in the gutter, awful leagues, clearly ran by idiots who aren’t doing anything to better the Scottish game,Ian wright said it best

#Scotland fans need to think on this: Had we lost only 1-0 to Brazil, we would have assumed we were going through. It's now quite likely that wouldn't have been enough. How much worse it would have been thinking we were going through only for every game to chip away at that hope!

@Perryjones123 @SlotIsABadGoth No so they should have managed the tournament better. I get it we are shite, gave a loser manager a 4 year contract before ball is kicked, but let’s put perspective on things on where teams are and where they should be.

For Scotland who hosted the first international, invented the modern passing game, had multiple European Cup winners, a Ballon d'Or, and by far the highest % of domestic attendance… to never get out the group at a World Cup is shameful. Well done to the SFA.

@Perryjones123 @SlotIsABadGoth Well yes, the 2 time winners have been eliminated at the hands of Cape Verde, we have been eliminated by Morocco, so yes their performance has been worse.

Tonight I'll watch France vs Norway at the World Cup. In France, the match will be called by French commentators on a French channel. In Norway, by Norwegian commentators on a Norwegian channel. That's what every normal nation expects. Now imagine that every single Scotland World Cup match was broadcast with only English and foreign commentators on English channels. Not one Scottish commentator or Scottish voice. Every game. Scotland literally invented television but is not allowed to have its own TV channel. Do you know why? Because the English colonial state knows that without its colonial propaganda, its colonisation and lies about Scotland collapse. A nation forced to experience its own national team through another nation's voice. If this happened anywhere else in the world, it would be recognised immediately for what it is: colonialism. Scotland was simply expected to accept it. This must end now.

🚨Governor DeSantis PRAISES the Scottish for being good guests in South Florida! “We had all these Scottish people come, and they're wearing the kilts, and they're out in the streets. I mean, just drinking these bars dry, like all this stuff. Having a really, really good time, but yet, no problems. There's no rioting, no anything like that. I t was very cheerful, it was good!”

Cape Verde going into the last 32 puts our achievement of “no Scotland no party” into perspective. It’s not just Clarke that’s the dinosaur, it’s the Scottish footballing establishment. Mulraney, maxwell, collum and the rest of the establishment must go
