PM @narendramodi stood up and said I'm sorry to every mother, sister, daughter in this country. It was the apology of someone who genuinely could not give us what we deserved and knew it. And in 40 years of waiting, no one has ever said sorry for that. No one. This is perhaps the first honest acknowledgment I've heard in my entire adult life that something was owed to us and it wasn't delivered. That landed. That actually landed. And while he was saying sorry, on the other side of Parliament, they were clapping. While women lost their seats, they CLAPPED. Joyful. Celebrating. Tables were being thumped. PM is spot on when he says, "नारी सब भूल जाती है। अपना अपमान कभी नहीं भूलती।" A woman forgets everything. She never forgets her humiliation. It's something every woman in this country already knows in her bones. Every woman who won her panchayat election on merit. Every woman who wanted to take that fire to Parliament. Someone in that chamber voted to keep her out. And then clapped and cheered. I felt bad when he apologized. Genuinely bad. Because it meant something was owed and not delivered, and someone actually acknowledged that. I know who said sorry. I know who clapped. I know who offered credit and who refused the bill anyway. I know who fears the woman from the panchayat more than any political opponent. 2029 is coming. The seats will be delimited. And the women of this country forget nothing. Nothing.

“Vote without fear” shouldn’t need to be said in a democracy. That it is being said loudly, repeatedly, across Bengal - is both an indictment and an act of resistance. Bengal was once the nerve centre of Indian thought. A place where dissent was doctrine, debate was daily bread, and the freedom to speak was not a concession but a birthright. That Bengal produced revolutionaries, poets, reformers. It did not produce fear. Now it has been reduced to a state where casting a ballot feels like an act of courage. Where journalists don’t enter certain districts. Where elected leaders are warned openly, brazenly that they may not be allowed to leave their hotels. This is occupation by incumbency. There is a wave of hope spreading right now. People in Bengal are determined that India should remember it differently now. For everyone who showed up anyway - the voter who walked to the booth knowing the risk, the journalist who filed anyway, the leader who campaigned anyway. Bengal has produced revolutionaries, reformers, poets who remade the idea of India. Come these elections, it will not be remembered as the place fear won. It will be remembered as the place fear ended.

Amazing how people shout without understanding So why did Modi govt not give in writing that every state will see 50% increase in number of seats? Because it had to be done *UNOFFICIALLY* Let me explain. Do you see Article 81 of the Constitution? It clearly says that every state must get Lok Sabha seats in same ratio as population So UP, Bihar, etc should get more seats according to this. Modi govt did not write Article 81. This is already written in the Constitution. But of course, there are legitimate complaints from some states. Why should states that controlled population be punished for it? Okay, but how can you expect govt to put in writing in the Constitutional amendment that every state will get 50% additional seats? Then the Constitution will directly contradict itself! So what was the only possible solution? Just don't put it in writing. Instead, make a clear solemn promise to the country that every state will get 50% additional seats. Which is exactly what govt did. The promise was highly publicized. And everyone knows that govt would not have dared to break the promise. The political cost would have been way too high. There was no official solution to the problem. It had to be an unofficial solution. But people wanted to oppose anyway. And of course, media did a terrible job of explaining the problem to public.

Shri Balbir Punj Ji was a prolific writer, thinker and public intellectual. He made a rich contribution to the world of media. His writings were widely read, reflecting his strong passion towards national regeneration. His Parliamentary interventions were rich in facts and theory. Shri Balbir Punj Ji worked tirelessly to strengthen the BJP, especially among students, professionals, scholars and intellectuals. He was in-charge of various states, including Gujarat. Fondly remember our interactions from those times. Pained by his passing. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti.

Imagine being an American and having this view today 😂 A country that’s been humiliated in an unpopular war, zero leverage at talks, several ‘laundry fires’, ALL its Gulf Bases hit, $200 billion vaporised in losses etc, and Iran’s regime still standing. “Head spinning” indeed.

I also felt so bad for Modiji apologising to every woman of Bharat. I have not seen any prime ministers saying sorry like Modiji. Congress is the worst party I have ever seen who are opposing whatever the govt is trying to do for the country. Waste of space Congress party is.

Tonight, a Prime Minister stood before 140 crore Indians and said: “We may not have had 66% in Parliament, but we have 100% of the women of India.” And TMC’s response? A complaint to the Election Commission. Let that sink in. The Constitution (131st Amendment) Bill fell in the Lok Sabha yesterday. 298 voted for. 230 voted against. A two-thirds majority was blocked, deliberately, with full knowledge of what was being buried. Tonight the PM explained that to the nation. That is accountability. Now TMC and DMK are screaming MCC violation. Here’s the problem with that. The Model Code of Conduct has never, not once, been designed to silence a sitting government from addressing the nation on a matter of constitutional consequence. They know this. They’re filing anyway. Precedent is May 2019. Lok Sabha polls in full swing. PM Modi addresses the nation on Mission Shakti, India’s successful anti-satellite weapon test. EC found zero violation. Why? Because matters of national importance fall outside MCC jurisdiction. This is not new law. This is existing law. What exactly was he campaigning for? A bill that had already been voted on, debated, and defeated on the floor of Parliament 24 hours before he spoke. He wasn’t asking for votes. He was speaking to a constitutional wound the opposition chose to inflict. Name the violation. You can’t. On the broadcast argument get this straight - Doordarshan carried the address. So did every major private news channel in the country, of their own accord, across every platform. Unless a specific channel was exclusively deployed for political messaging, which none was, the MCC trigger simply does not exist. Maybe read the rules before filing? Here is what this is really about. TMC and DMK are not used to a Prime Minister who speaks directly to the people. Remote-controlled politics runs on silence and surrogates. A PM who faces the nation feels dangerous to them. It should. And let’s say the quiet part loudly. These are parties that voted against 33% reservation for women in Parliament. They looked Indian women in the eye and said: not yet, not now, not this way. And now they want to muzzle the man who called them out for it. TMC and DMK don’t see 140 crore women being denied constitutional representation as a national issue worthy of a Prime Ministerial address. That tells you everything about who these parties think women are. I guess they should find a better defence. This one has no foundation in law, no logic in precedent, and no moral ground left to stand on.

भ्रूण हत्या - Foeticide The word that makes your stomach drop. PM @narendramodi used the heaviest word a man like him could have chosen and he chose it anyway. The word he used today in his speech didn't come from nowhere. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. Save the daughter. Educate the daughter. PM @narendramodi launched it in 2015 from Panipat, a district with one of the worst female sex ratios in India. He stood there and said, "This is a national shame." This ends now. This is the guy who, as a CM, had already turned it into a movement in his home state, Gujarat! He ran that campaign personally. Not through a minister. Not through a scheme number in a gazette. He talked about it in Mann ki Baat. He put his name on it. He stood in villages and told families, "Your daughter is not a burden. She is India's future." That man. That specific man. Yesterday used the word भ्रूण हत्या to describe what happened in Parliament. Foeticide. He didn't say "defeated." He didn't say "blocked." He didn't say "unfortunate setback." He said Congress, TMC, SP, DMK, these parties committed foeticide on this amendment. A man who made saving daughters his life's mission looked at what happened in Parliament and reached for the most devastating word he knew. This is not a casual political attack. This is the man who stood in front of the nation and wept over missing daughters, drawing a direct line between a family that kills a girl child and a party that kills her political future. The crime is the same. The motive is the same. The victim is the same. The parties he accused? Every single one of them has run women-facing campaigns. Remember Congress's "women empowerment" in every manifesto? And TMC, which is led by a woman, constantly uses women's imagery. SP's Lohia's legacy of social justice. And DMK's progressive, Dravidian, proudly modern. All of them. Posters. Rallies. Slogans. All of them. In that chamber. Applauding when her seat was taken. Female foeticide happens because perhaps a family looks at a daughter and calculates "she will cost us," "she will leave us," "she will never truly serve our interests." Yesterday in Parliament a vote was cast with the exact same calculation. The only difference is the scale of the crime. And then, after using the heaviest word in his vocabulary, he turned to the mothers of this country and said: माफ करना I am sorry. I tried. I could not deliver. I am sorry. The man who told India to save its daughters apologized to them for not being able to save their seats. I don't know how to explain what it feels like to hear that. The man who begged India to value its daughters watched Parliament devalue them and called it what it was.

Why was Women's reservation linked to delimitation? Arrey bhai even in 543 seats how do you decide which seat is 181 seats will be female reserved? As per constitution only Delimitation commission can decide that. So how will you implement women reservation without delimiting?
