@YourLocalNecro I want to add that non-zoos also do a lot of things that indirectly hurt their animals with the motivation of loving them. So yes it's not just exclusive to sexual acts.

I'm not able to comment but yeah, I'd say they do apply. However there are some things we need to do for an animals wellbeing that they couldn't technically consent to. Like going on walks or to the vet. Both pose risk of injury, but it's necessary. 1/2

@Daxter5218 @SCP_0313 All we can really do is report it to authorities, call out abusers, and fight for stricter animal protection laws. It helps some, but unfortunately doesn't stop all abuse

This post sn on the subject of policing the zoo community what's a productive way of doing it ?because just pushing out abusers doesn't change anything it doesn't stop them from abusing but bringing up stuf to the police doesn't help because they don't care about animals.

@zoofurloserX If a dog runs away, are they gonna know what the pound is? If they eat a jar of chocolate are they going to know its poisonous? If they have sex with a human are they going to know they cpuld get taken away? Or the risk of injury? Or any of the other risks that come from sex? 2/3

@DeckersGarden @zoofurloserX No, its both parties responsibility. You cant change the meaning of consent to fit what you want. The only time consent doesn't have to be informed is for safety reasons (like going to the vet for example)

@YourLocalNecro @zoofurloserX Being informed is your responsibility. It doesn't make animals any less consenting. You should also know what another person's consent looks like. You can't be serious about consent if you think animals change it.

We’ve lost the art of just being like “hey man that was kinda uncool.” Everything has to be the biggest deal ever and people have to be groveling begging for forgiveness and apologizing profusely for every little thing. Sometimes a “yeah that was uncool my fault guys” is enough

@zoofurloserX Consent is more than just the ability to say yes. Consent is informed too. An animal cannot be informed of the dangers or social/phycological consequences. Its also very easy to condition them into believing something is okay because they dont have access any other points of view

I wish (some) zoophiles would stop making posts about animals with sexual connotations and then pretending they dont have sexual connotations

I'm IN therapy. You know what my therapist said? "As long as you don't act on your attraction to animals, I see no issue." She's been a licensed therapist for over 5 years.
