@DIYDisclosure For the same reason a chicken crossed the road. To get to the other side! Or perhaps, to be more precise, from the monad’s perspective, to create a space in which it can experience something like “a side.”

@SkarnaesRa It might work. I’ve been thinking about composing using only MIDI sounds, because if it works, the composition is good and I’m not attached to the sounds because of repetition. I’ve sometimes composed an entire song on the guitar before I’ve even turned on the computer.

One funny thing about some djent music is that the guitars often have more than six strings, but the stereotypical djent riff seems to be played on the lowest string. A single-string guitar would be enough!

When there's nothing to do, black coffee and some blues riffs in the middle of the night are a pretty good option. Slowly coming back.

@ItsukiMizushima You need to have a good understanding of the guitar neck to be able to improvise something like this. Sounds good!

So I had this brilliant idea to buy a kids' guitar for a hundred euros and install a Dimarzio Cruiser pickup on it. At low volumes, it produces a really intimate sound, though the noise increases. I've been noodling Ghost Riders in the Sky with this sound. Worth every euro!

It’s interesting to think that in the near future, artificial intelligence will create personalized games, music, movies, and so on for people. Will some kind of meta-culture emerge when, for example, games are no longer “mostly the same” as they were for "Sega kids" in the ’90s?

I ask AI about coding something, and AI confirms it. "Yes, this is exactly how it's done, this will be one of the best projects ever." The excessive positivity almost makes me give up on the idea!

@IKJLeio youtu.be/zXGdyp7Ml-Y?t=… Just a random person here whose feed this post appeared on. I'm about a generation older than you, but I can relate. I listened to this song more often than I'd like to admit! There was a Roland at my school.

@urgre This album "Korkea kofeiinipitoisuus" is available in its entirety on YouTube, but I haven't listened to the other two. I think Evoluutio is their most rhythmically challenging song, but the album does contain some harmonically pleasing music anyway.

@Z1ph101d Isn't the chorus of this song in 23(10+6+7)/8 time!? You always share such great songs! I'm very grateful. Spontaani Vire is a band I've heard for the first time. I'd love to listen to more of their songs!

@urgre I haven't counted this before, and it's quite hard! I think it's 3 times (23+23+23+20)/8 1 time (23+23+23+24+16)/8 According to accents 23 (X... X.. X.. X. X. X. X.X X.X.) 20 (X... X.X X.X X.X X.X X.X.) transition to solo 24 (X..X..X..X..X..X..X..X..) 16 (X..X.X.X...XX...)

@urgre Oh, okay. Have you heard of the Finnish band Spontaani vire? If I remember correctly, they all studied folk music at an academic level. The song called Evoluutio has a stimulating rhythm you may like. youtube.com/watch?v=4TuSAQ… "Das das" is also good with its 7/8 rhythm.

@Z1ph101d In Japan, students learn Tanka and Haiku in elementary school and practice reciting them. but the rhythm for recitation is conventionally fixed at 4/4. That is, it's not a 5-7-5-7-7 syllable count, but rather follows a pattern like 12345***-1234567*-12345***-1234567*-1234567*.

@urgre Naturally, as a child, I didn't know what 5/4 meant, but I internalized the rhythm of the poem. But in Japan, there is haiku 5-7-5 and tanka 5-7-5-7-7. Couldn't that be an opportunity for special rhythms derived from tradition, if converted into music?

@Z1ph101d I've come across Kalevala in some Sibelius piece. And you even study 5/4 songs at school! That's awesome, such a great foundation.
