Congratulations to Dr. Maxwell Reese for the successful defense of his thesis on Cu-mediated C-N bond formation. He is invaluable to our lab and we are very proud of all he has accomplished!

The Zhang lab went 5/5 this spring with second-years Abbi, Andrew, and Emily passing candidacy and first-years Ashleigh and Jackson passing first-year orals. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and can’t wait to see what the future holds!

This week at group meeting, we celebrated in true Zhang lab fashion: cake at 9 am. Happy birthday Shiyu!

Recently, Emily (2nd year), Margaret (4th year), Jeff (3rd year), and Ashleigh (1st year) shared their research at the 2025 Annual FOCUS Symposium at OSU. We had a great time learning about our peers’ work, attending workshops, and attending a Q&A panel led by women in chemistry!

This past week, we headed to ACS Spring 2025 in San Diego to be recognized for the Harry Gray Award for Creative Work in Inorganic Chemistry by a Young Investigator and present some new and exciting research! #ACSSpring2025 #CopperChemistry
