The name of the game offensively should be. 1. Get on base. 2. Drive in runners in scoring position. The dude that hits 1 homer every 50 at bats trying to hit solo homers. Destroys offenses.

Hitters Two strike approach and full counts. Expand the zone with two strikes until the count goes full. Choke up, spread out and don't let the dude on the mound strike you out. It's personal. Fight your ass off to put the ball in play. Shrink the zone in 3-2 counts. Don't expand. Don't chase. The only time striking out is somewhat acceptable is on a 3-2 count looking at a expanded strike call.

Amateur Hitters Amateur pitchers want you swinging 1-0, 2-0, 3-0. A lot of them need you swinging to help get yourself out. If you took every 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 pitch void of runners in scoring position, your average would go up, way up. You'd walk more, a lot more, and that would drive your average up and help your team. Sounds crazy right. You've always been told to be aggressive, but a lot of you that aren't future professional hitters are simply being aggressive at getting yourself out, instead of driving pitch counts and trying to get on base.
