It has zero effect on me personally, but it does affect my love for the character. Alan Rickman made the role legendary, and Snape had one of the greatest character development arcs in the Harry Potter film series. He was my favorite, so yes, changing Snape does affect my connection to the character and my experience of the films.

What’s this obsession with changing the race or gender of iconic characters? Some characters were gender-swapped in the MCU recently, and now they’ve changed the race of Professor Severus Snape in Harry Potter. They’ve completely ruined one of the biggest characters from the franchise for me 🥲🥲
