The game of football lost one of its greatest ambassadors today. Coach Gerry Gallagher truly embodied everything that is good about this game. A mentor to athletes and coaches across the country, he was a tireless advocate for football and a selfless supporter of our coaching profession. Whether it was lending advice, offering encouragement, or working behind the scenes to better the game—Coach Gallagher was always there. He was often the first to congratulate others on their successes and never sought the spotlight for himself. This one really hurts. Sending my deepest thoughts and prayers to his family during this time. Rest easy, Coach… you’ve reached the goal line.
