Lucknow University has recorded a remarkable surge in global interest, receiving 3,421 applications from students across 77 countries for the 2026–27 academic session—a 64% increase over last year. The highest number of applications came from Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Sudan, and Tanzania, reflecting the university's expanding international outreach. Undergraduate programmes attracted 2,552 applications, while 595 applied for postgraduate courses and 274 for PhD programmes. The growth is being attributed to the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, improved academic infrastructure, enhanced research opportunities, digital learning initiatives, and a student-friendly campus environment. The development highlights Uttar Pradesh's growing presence as an emerging destination for higher education, with Lucknow University attracting increasing interest from students around the world.
