"Don't sell yourself short, don't shoot yourself in the leg. Happenings come and go, but the person always remains." On Sunday, 22nd February 2026 we got to host a book chat with an author Mr Pokyes Kavwam on a book he wrote titled The Super Girl.

What book changed how you see life?

I officially graduated as the Valedictorian of my set. But more importantly, I broke a ceiling: I am the First-Ever First Class Graduate in the history of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering. 1 of 1. 🎓

Do you finish every book you start?

January’s book club read, “The Girl With The Louding Voice” left us with a sense of profound compassion. Abi Daré gives us a tender yet unflinching Nigerian tale about girlhood, language, and survival. Adunni’s voice, unpolished yet brave, is the novel’s quiet revolution.
