As far as I know, tomorrow's 7th strike day at @Sydney_Uni makes this the (equal?) longest-running strike campaign by @NTEUnion members ever. A good opportunity to look at the background actors at the university who are making our current protracted struggle necessary. 🧵

Let's call things what they are, and start referring to anything involving 'synchronous learning' via Zoom, MS Teams, Adobe Connect etc as 'Intensive face-to-face teaching'. (And if 'video on' is mandatory, it's 'Insistently face-to-face teaching'.)

After spending a few hours trying to enrol in a university course, am thinking all students should get additional credit, just for making it through this process. Seriously.

@_amuir_ Yes, agreed. Also learned more about tertiary / HE teaching doing the Cert IV TAE through VET.

Another significant difference in #voced: the clear and consistent emphasis on adult(s) learning. This is not something that is focused on #highered. 3/n

Hey twittersphere, how do you define 'educational leadership' in higher education context? Can anyone share definitions/models/frameworks/readings, ideally in relation to business education?

@acahacker I do some ICT course design, assessment & teaching at uni, government & industry. I team teach with careers staff to help students prepare job applications. Does that make me a #thirdspace #altacs? I am a member of @ASCILITE & ACS ICT Educators (for school curriculum).

@acahacker PhAcs 😄😄 Don't know of an organisation except @TELedvisors, but I'm writing my thesis on #thirdspace experiences in Aus HE. Interviewed ed designers and equity practitioners: some with PhDs, some on track and some with no interest in pursuing that course.
