The group seems more together than it ever has done. Clear belief running through them and that’s great to see.

Back in November West Ham were battered by Brentford and mustered one shot on target at home. Fast forward a few months and they’ve beaten them to progress into the FA Cup quarters for the first time in a decade. Nuno deserves a lot of credit.

@afrowanny Zeker. Ik zie ook veel goeie dingen. Infrastructuur, jeugdopleiding groeit, maatschappelijk doen ze goeie projecten,… Blijft een heel fijne club om op bezoek te gaan. Ik geloof gewoon niet in dat transfermodel als de toekomst voor ons voetbal.

Ja, de transferperiode. Het gaat meer dan ooit om transfers en dus ook in onze sportpers. Onderstaande quote komt van de sportief directeur van Westerlo. Het is inderdaad een bewuste strategie van onze clubs om zo snel mogelijk en zoveel mogelijk te profiteren van de manna die uit de Premier League naar beneden dwarrelt. Dat Westerlo met een kern van 70% buitenlanders zit, opstellingen van bovenaf worden ingefluisterd, ze met Houtvenne alle regels proberen omzeilen en niemand nog weet wie er volgend jaar op het veld zal staan, pakken we er maar bij. De normalisering van deze georganiseerde koehandel doet me pijn. Aandeelhouders zullen hierin het kortetermijnlicht zien, maar wat hebben de fans, de competitie en uiteindelijk ook KVC Westerlo hieraan? 🤷‍♂️

@winkelmans Te begrijpen, het is een beetje de Red Bull strategie lijk het. Als supporter zelf vind ik het vaak ook tegen het extreme aan hoe jong de spelers zijn en zie je liever iemand komen die al meer een gevestigde waarde is in het Belgisch voetbal (hebben ze wel al geprobeerd).

@ConnorWHU_ Didn't manage to see the game on sunday, but was suprised Guidi started. How did he do? Did it felt tactical or because Magassa was probably still too tired from Man U?

Looking back on this you can see why we want a dominant ccb in January. If we can get someone like Tiago Gabriel who's an aerial freak with Mav and Todibo either side of him that back line looks a lot more comfortable, also when we stay in a 4atb Gabriel would be happy to be a backup/competition option. Eventually get Magassa or Potts in for Guido when fixtures are a little less of an issue and that system becomes a very viable option when Nuno wants it. We know Nuno is a very shape diverse manager who uses a wide variety of formations game to game, so having a 5atb be an option is nice. Maybe a striker in for Paq too but idk, maybe try Potts and Magassa with Matty as a the advanced one, I prefer Matty deeper but I'd rather that than play Paq tbh.
