Honestly, if white writers aren't willing to make an effort when they have poc lead characters front and center of their books, not having sensitivity readers, not doing proper research, then just don't bother writing poc characters, especially in leading roles where race is imp

I've seen people say it's parasocial to be upset but I disagree. Art, movies, books are made for people to feel something. If you relate to a character and learn that the author actually posts awful things about him, it feels wrong and you are allowed to be angry.
