@Xiphos_YT Also 64gb cards aren’t getting cheaper, and games installed on local storage load much faster. so I mean I really don’t mind personally. The amount of people this locks out of playing these games is pretty small.
@Xiphos_YT I always thought game key card backlash was over blow. Sure they will stop working one day but by the time that day comes we will probably have working emulators or means to jailbreak the console. And you can still trade or sell the game like a normal cartridge.
Since there's still misinformation about the #NintendoSwitch2 cartridges, let me explain these 3.
Zelda: Switch 1 and Switch 2 upgrade pack. Fully physical. No Download required day one.
Cyberpunk: Fully Physical, no download required day one
@MentalHealthVT@Ada2987_art “Supply and demand” does not apply when you are operating in a digital market where supply is infinite and prices are determined by a singular entity with no alternative. Again, read about her and her work. You are clearly just not informed and that’s fine.
@ager_127@Ada2987_art People not buying their games is just as effective. Stop blaming politics on a company’s anti consumer behavior and let supply and demand do its job.
Many still not realise Sony is not set and under control of Japan since like 2016, he is right. It honestly feels like whatever the american hand touches lately, it turns to shit and there are no benefits to anyone but the money whales that hope to suck your soul out for gain.
@MentalHealthVT@Ada2987_art Please do some research on Lina khan and her time at the FTC. She was the only person in a significant position of power who cracked down on anti consumer shit like this. This would be much harder to implement under her leadership.
@Ada2987_art No, this is dumb. Why do we try blaming everything on someone other than the problem? There is no law in place telling Sony to this. They made the choice and they need to be held responsible that’s it. It doesn’t get any deeper than that.
@TemplarsRoar He’s talking about Lina khan being dismissed and a complete lack of FTC oversight over these things. There is a very direct and clear line here he is not tripping.
@TheRealJTV4K60 One, GOG exists. Second, the PC is an open platform. There are competitors that keep negative price pressure alive and keeps them friendly to customers. Third, PC digitization wasn’t unilaterally forced by “big PC”. Everyone made their own discs.
@julenardo_@literally_whu@stupidtechtakes Like the worst you could say is that it increases local energy costs, but you could easily just get them to be energy self sufficient, which many are planning and legislation is moving to do that.
@julenardo_@literally_whu@stupidtechtakes Agriculture uses 47% of all US fresh water reserves. 17% goes to only corn. The amount of water wasted is massive. Data center water usage is something like 0.5-1%, like that truly does not make a dent at all. I’m not for AI btw but attacking it on environmental grounds is stupid
@socialistadri You know they weren’t sitting on their ass for 13 years. They made another game and also they worked on the live game for all that time. Capitalism = multiplayer games = bad?
Hasan explains how Rockstar Games and GTA5 are the perfect example of how capitalism ruins innovation and destroys creativity. Enabling online gaming servers and microtransactions halted their urgency to make GTA6. They made so much money from microtransactions.
im addicted to buying digital games on steam
and the summer sale is not helping
so i made a website that gives me the same dopamine of buying games without spending actual money
Yes, PlayStation is pushing digital because it makes them more money. But that's only part of the story.
The bigger reason is that consumers have already shifted. Most PlayStation game sales (and 3rd party) are digital now, so Sony is building hardware around how the majority of people actually buy games. They're following consumer behavior.
