On my birthday, here’s a small gift I hope you’ll keep; return to it when things are loud or lonely.

1.Character > comfort. Choose the right thing, especially when no one is looking. 2.Direction > speed. A slow, correct path beats a fast, wrong one. 3.Compounding > intensity. Tiny daily wins (reading, saving, training, kindness) outgrow rare heroic sprints. 4.Guard three engines: • Mind: read widely, write to think, ask better questions. • Body: sleep, lift, walk, eat mostly real food. • Reputation: tell the truth, keep promises, arrive on time. 5.Relationships are wealth. Give more than you take; be easy to help and quick to forgive. 6.Money rules: earn ethically, spend intentionally, invest automatically, give quietly. 7.Work craft: master one thing deeply, learn adjacent skills, ship on a schedule. Boring + useful beats flashy + fragile. 8.Decision stack: write it down → invert (“how could this fail?”) → sleep on it → prefer reversible choices. 9.Time is a vote. Your calendar reveals your values; protect deep, undistracted hours; leave white space. 10.Courage in 5 minutes: do the hard first step; send the message, make the call, apologize first. 11.Be the calmest person in the room. Calm is contagious; panic is, too. 12.Default to kindness; pair it with boundaries. “No” is complete and respectful. 13.Learn from old books and living people. Teach what you learn; it’s the fastest way to own it. 14.When stuck: move your body, tidy your space, do one honest hour. Momentum cures moods. 15.Legacy test: will this matter in 10 years? Plant trees, document lessons, mentor someone who reminds you of us.
