Yesterday we opened a discussion to our holders and the Aptos community as a whole -- here is a summarized version of the things people would like to see from Aptomingos in 2024, alongside a few comments from the team. ❤️
#1 - Maintain what we have.
This is by far the best and most mature suggestion we got from the community. The purpose of Aptomingos will always be, and has always been to create an exclusive community of like-minded people interested in the Aptos ecosystem. An OG community the ecosystem could respect and look up to. We think we've found a system that works for us in that regard, and the top priority, whether bull or bear market, will always be to maintain the activity of the DAO, so we can continue to provide high tier opportunities for our holders. The opportunities we provide aren't necessarily locked to the Aptos ecosystem -- we've secured high tier opportunities on other chains such as SOL, ETH, BTC and SEI, easily grossing over a million dollars in the past year.
#2 - Staking.
Staking is a complicated topic, and we've purposefully avoided the idea of it for that very reason. Staking is a great way to replicate a royalty program for your holders, but it often comes with expectations of something more. We love our friends on Aptos, and they can also be great references for learning! Look at @AptosMonkeys and @bruh_bears as two different examples of staking. One has a token pegged to it (seedz), where you get a certain amount of it every day. The other has a counter (levels) that goes up over time. In both cases, you would quickly know who your loyal holders are. Either they have accumulated a lot of seedz, or they have a high level bear. This is pretty cool, but you'd often have to try to find use-cases for these situations -- that's the part that's pretty complicated. Aptomingos was always supposed to be pretty simple, and the main utility you get from holding one is access to the community and the opportunities we provide within that community. For now, we'd like to keep it that way, but that doesn't mean we'd never do anything for our most loyal holders.
#3 - An advanced memecoin.
Okay, let's do it -- that sounds fun. Just like anything else we've ever done, expect this to be an exciting and fun experience. We're not going to just mint a bunch of tokens, add some liquidity, airdrop them and say "good luck soldiers". There will be some interesting and hopefully innovative mechanics that make the entire experience fun to participate in.
#4 - A timeframe for Club Bizarre and [REDACTED] keys.
Timeframes have become a pretty sensitive topic for us, especially when we've outsourced work to different artists and developers. When we create something ourselves, you can always count on us to announce a deadline and more often than not, we'll stick to it. The problem with outsourcing to people who aren't core team members, is that the reliability can become an issue. However, what we can tell you, is that we are doing internal testing very soon, and we're aiming to do a public test this month that we hope the entire Aptos ecosystem will take part in.
#5 - Bring back the fun.
One of the many things we mingos say, is that we're bullish on community, experiences and having fun. Yes, you're probably in crypto to make money, but there's no reason that should be the only reason you're here. We've done things in the past to try to engage the community, whether through silly livestreams, consuming beverages through the medium of shoes, or various competitions, but we're going to bring that back in 2024. It should be fun to be here. It should be fun to be on Aptos. We're gonna make it fun. Let's have some fun.
We'll be creating a whimsical roadmap for 2024 to showcase the things we're gonna try to achieve.
