🌎 For seven decades he showed us the wonders of nature. He educated us. He inspired us. He warned us. Then we showed him that nothing will change human nature. Happy 100th Birthday, Sir David.

Skip, splash, and snuggle through Bumpy’s first days with us. This little hippo was rescued by the Kenya Wildlife Service over the weekend, after his mother died — likely defending her baby’s life in a territorial fight. Bumpy remained huddled by her body until help arrived. Now, Bumpy has a family with us and a wild future ahead. Discover his story: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans/bumpy

Most still massively underestimate what repowering means. They picture “more turbines everywhere” when in reality it’s often fewer turbines producing absurdly more electricity from the exact same wind corridors already connected to the grid decades ago. That changes the economics, land use debate and even grid planning completely. Feels less like expansion and more like the energy system quietly mutating into something far more powerful and robust.

SOUS-TRANSPOSITION ! #agriculture

80M people on Indonesia's islands run on diesel & coal, not because clean energy isn't available, but because the numbers don't work. The #FFI is built for this: $12M in battery storage grants $345M in private investment 540 megawatts of solar power wrld.bg/bIi350YUtPH

America’s ranchers are disappearing while families pay record prices for beef. We’re taking this fight to Washington D.C. and building a producer-owned food system that puts American ranchers and consumers first. The corporations already have the lobbyists. While people turn off their heat to eat… Shell reported profits of $6.92bn (£5.1bn) for the 1st 3m of the year, which was higher than analysts had expected, up from $5.58bn in the same period a year earlier. BP’s profits doubled in same period. #Greed

The global EV race is on, and Canada wants to lead. We’ve committed to 75% EV sales by 2035. But we’ll only get there with the right rules. Weak standards = more unnecessary pollution, and Canadians missing out on the cost and health benefits of EV ownership. #cdnpoli #EVs

We said NO to data centers in our communities.. So now they want to turn our beautiful oceans into a server farm? And for some reason, this is being touted as “clean” and “low impact.” Let’s be real: Monster metal boxes floating at sea… servers running 24/7… sucking in ocean water to cool down… Then piping that heated water back into the environment. Sure sounds “powered by waves” to me. Here’s what it actually is: *Ocean warming (many sea creatures are highly temperature-reliant) Plankton, fish eggs, and larvae are being pulled into cooling systems. *Chemicals/coatings leaking into the ocean Round-the-clock underwater noise pollution is affecting whales and dolphins. And this isn’t one or two data centers, they want to MASS PRODUCE these, what could go wrong? They’re planning on building hundreds, if not THOUSANDS. We haven’t even figured out how to adequately care for our oceans… Yet we’re turning it into a backup parking lot for energy-intensive AI? Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.
