@davezatz I haven’t seen anything lately, but Echo ads were being blocked by Pi-hole earlier this spring. A $70 Raspberry Pi, an hour or so to set it up and it blocks so many ads and trackers that it changes your life. My phone VPN’s to the house to block ads when I’m away.

Bro, are you new here? ;) (Per Reddit, if you turn off Alexa+ devices fall back to the original, lesser but still unacceptable ad loadout. Haven’t confirmed, unloaded this trash long ago.)

I don’t use @what3words often enough to justify a $55 (US) per year subscription, and these locked “Pro” icons are off-putting enough to make me stop using it altogether.

@davezatz No network connection at all. Factory reset, choose “set up later” for the connect devices and network setup and boom. Roku is disabled and it it now a dumb TV.

@arrowrand My route is easier. But your route may be cleaner. Assuming it even lets you setup at all without network.

@davezatz We went with a CPA. We collect up the documents as they come, mail them to him and $300 later (plus a bill for any other consulting and work that he does for us) and the taxes are done. Easy. And worth every single penny that we pay him.

Each year, I say this is the last year I'm doing TurboTax. But I mean it for real this time. (uh huh) What alternatives are you guys using? (We used to use an accountant, but it was way more time and effort for way more money and likely same results.)

The SD cards in both of my Raspberry Pi devices died within days of each other, so I’ve been without @The_Pi_Hole for a few months. This is just 12 hours worth of blocked trackers. Not sure why it took me so long to set these up again.

I thought that I hated Plex. Turns out that I hated Plex on the Shield TV. Even moving my server to a computer, the Shield TV constantly stuttered with live TV. The Apple TV works perfectly. I love Plex.
