If I were 22 today, I wouldn't try to build the next Airbnb. I'd sit next to YC founders and watch how they build. Then I'd build whatever makes them 10x faster. Pick and shovel always beats the gold rush. AI runs the company brain. AI ships the product. AI makes the calls. You just point it in the right direction and push every day. The biggest opportunity isn't the next big idea. It's making the people with big ideas unstoppable

"launch early" is probably the most well-known piece of YC advice. and yet i still spend half my time convincing founders to actually do it. the resistance is always the same: the video isn't ready, website needs tweaks, or they need to ship one more feature. when they finally launch, the result is always the same too: they get tons of customer interest and investor inbound they didn't expect. and they always wish they had launched sooner.

YC's position in Mercor would be worth >$1B today if they hadn't rejected us in 2023. They passed because a previous recruiting startup didn't work out.
