I saw a YouTube video about a physical media cartridge player made by The Stock Pot. 🔥 After a few small adjustments, I made my own. 🤓 The cartridges contain NFC chips that trigger automations when inserted into the player. #3DPrinting #Apple

@tristan_lofgren It’s not actually connected to the Apple TV physically. The automations (starting a show) are done by a combination of Homey and Home Assistant.

@ajrgd This was just a simple demo, but it totally can auto play. It can actually do anything you want. Turn the lights down, close the window blinds, start the show. All automatically 🤓

@basvanderploeg Can you make it auto play? You know, to avoid the equivalent dvd title menu and excess

@peterxyu Small note: The corner radius is based on my adjusted version of the 3D model. The original model uses a different radius. I will try to post my version at a later moment.

@basvanderploeg Gotcha. What is book cover foil? Is it clear? How do you match the corner radius of the sticker paper?

@peterxyu I used glossy sticky backed photo paper from (Dutch) Amazon. Actually it was the first time that I used it, but the quality is great. amzn.eu/d/bZsGEFi (Not sure if they sell the version on Amazon US.) I sealed it with a layer of self-adhesive book cover foil.
