Honored to share that this fall I'll be a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Iowa Nonfiction Writing Program! I had to leave Iowa City to become a writer. It means more than I can say to return to teach in a hometown I've heard so much about in books.

I love this. I started writing fiction in earnest in my late 30s and had to ignore a lot of fear about being too late. I'm so glad I didn't listen to myself.
