BREAKING NEWS: UCC Lecturer and Teaching Assistant Killed in Tragic Road Accident While Travelling to Winneba💔💔💔
A Senior Lecturer at the University of Cape Coast, Dr. Kwabena Koforobour Agyemang, and his teaching assistant, Peter Amoadu Asmah, have tragically lost their lives in a fatal road accident while travelling to Winneba for a meeting.
Dr. Agyemang is listed by the University of Cape Coast as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Regional Planning. University records also confirm his active academic role, including teaching and supervision responsibilities within the institution.
According to reports, the two were en route to Winneba when they encountered a trailer that allegedly lost control on the road. Witnesses say the victims noticed the danger from a distance and reportedly pulled over in an attempt to move to safety.
However, the trailer is said to have veered toward their parked vehicle and ran over it, fatally crushing the car and trapping both occupants inside.
Both Dr. Agyemang and Mr. Asmah were pronounced dead at the scene.
Sources indicate that Peter Amoadu Asmah, a graduate who later worked closely with Dr. Agyemang as a teaching assistant, sustained severe injuries and reportedly bled heavily before emergency responders arrived. Dr. Agyemang also suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
Their bodies have since been deposited at the morgue.
Mr. Asmah is remembered as a committed graduate who served closely under Dr. Agyemang in an academic support role, assisting in teaching and departmental activities.
The tragic incident has left students, colleagues, friends, and family members in deep shock, with many paying tribute to both men.
Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the cause of the accident.
May their souls rest in peace. UCC Lecturer and Teaching Assistant Killed in Tragic Road Accident While Travelling to Winneba
