This will be my first Breakpoint as a member of the Solana community. I attended last year and was graciously invited to participate in Core Dev day which gave me a chance to experience a completely different and much more productive style of core development. One that prioritizes performance, starts by defining what solutions are trying to achieve before moving on to solutions, and welcomes rigorous and open critique of ideas. Core dev on Solana is a full contact sport and is not for the feint of heart. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. Only through strong opinions weakly held can we make progress on the nontrivial problems that will set Solana apart from the competition. Thank you for welcoming me to the Solana community. I’ll be giving some updates at Breakpoint on what I’ve been working on over the past year along with members of the Anza and Firedancer teams. Things that have the potential to bring new capabilities to Solana that will help us in our pursuit of internet capital markets. See you all there. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
