I golf right handed but bowl, throw, shoot, bat left handed. Play tennis right, open a jar left, write right, kick left. Can’t do any of these things worth a crap with the opposite so no I’m not ambidextrous just a clown. 🤡

I’m amazed how many ppl gamble on pro golf. I can’t think of a harder sport to try to predict outcomes. Do ppl actually think they can win?

Totally off the golf subject: What kind of bagels do you prefer? Me I like the big soft ones vs the hard boiled ones. Cinnamon Raisin is my go to

I watched the 1974 US OPEN last night on YouTube. Watsons putting stance was WIDE and he gripped the putter down to almost the shaft. Interesting look. Jim Colbert was also throwing hammers that year. Does anyone remember that event or see it in person?

Lots of players have a pre round snack to stay alert……I go with this if available. Calms the nerves well.

My lady and I did a daily journal in 2025 where we answered whatever question was posed for the day. Can you guess which answer mine was? Side note: she’s still dating me after reading my answer

@TheGhostofhogan I met Larry Barber in Montana at a section tourney. I was gonna do some fish after the tourney was over with my dad and brother and everyone told me I had to talk to Larry. He told me exactly where to go, what was fishing the best, and gave me the greatest advice. Grateful!!

Post college I sold EZGO golf carts for a distributor in my area. We were at Grayhawk one time for a sales meeting. I was on putting green with some guys messing around & say a former plyr at ASU named Larry Barber who I got to know during my day at Oregon. Next to him was @PhilMickelson hitting balls. I went over & said hi to Larry. We chatted for a bit then he introduced me to Phil. Phil stopped hitting balls shook my hand asked me when I played at Oregon, how my game was, and was totally engaging and nice. He knew a few of my old teammates, asked what they were up to etc. Then I watched him hit laser beams with his driver for a bit- all on a rope and head high- must of been working on a specific shot- anyway my point is he was really genuine & nice. Didn’t big time me or brush me off. We need more high profile athletes to be like Phil. Even though he’s a Sun Devil he was cool to me.

When I worked at a private club a while back there was a $$ game called 5’s and 2’s. U got pts for KP’s, up & downs, high low team pts, etc etc. The 2’s meant $2 a pt starting off. Team behind was always eligible to “step” on the pts which meant pts would double. If shit went sideways on a hole for one team they could get swept & win all eligible pts which would then double the pts again. Safe to say as an asst pro making a whooping $18 an hr I wasn’t in a position to lose $200/300 on the course. The game uses handicaps and teams r low and high handicaps pair up & take on other 2 guys. I was a good test of the nerves bc without question winning or losing by the time we got to 17th tee the pts would have been stepped on enough times they would get to $32 or even $64 a pt. It was to my advantage being the better plyr to play this game since there was a KP pt on each hole plus natural birdies were a pt as well. It tested the mental game in a big way because for me standing on 17 knowing I’m possibly exposed for $200 IF I don’t execute the shot was what I lived for. It wasn’t about the $$ (always nice to have some cash in the pocket) it was more about the mental challenge for me- the drive to prove to myself that I can pull off the shots when the heat was on. That is what fueled me way back when I started playing competitively at age 14. There is no other sport, IMO, where it is 100% up to you as to whether you win or lose. I remember breaking 90,80, and finally 70 for the first time. That feeling of accomplishment was like a drug. I wanted more of it. I would eat, sleep, & breath golf. In high school I would putt at night at the club as the practice green had a lamppost near it and just enough light shined so I could see the hole. Total nerd move back in 1986 but I didn’t care bc I was enthralled in the game.

My weakness…..the less than full shot. Developed the flinches with this shot some yrs ago & been working on fixing it ever since. Put me under some heat & it can be really bad!! I’m determined to make it a strength of my game in 26’!

Oregon Open one year. 1st round, playing good golf, driving it like Hogan thru 9 holes, few under at the turn, step up to our 10th hole, dogleg right Par 5, easily a get able Par 5, key is the drive, only “issue” is if you flair one right there’s OB and desert. I proceed to flair back to back tee balls right. Lost ball on first one, find second but it’s unplayable. Long story short I slap a 9 on the scorecard 🤣. If I had any mental game I coulda been a decent plyr at the club pro level. Fried nerves & self deprecation are the strongest parts of my game 🤣😊😬🪖
